German Apple Pie

Pie Crust
Pillsbury ready made crust

1 1/3 cup RxSugar®
¼ cup of flour
2 tsp ground cinnamon
6 cups sliced peeled tart apples (Granny Smith)
1 cup heavy cream

  1. Place pastry into pie plate. Trim to ½ inch beyond edge of pie plate; flute edges
  2. For filling: Combine the RxSugar® flour and cinnamon; sprinkle 3 tbsp into crust
  3. Later with half of the apples, then sprinkle with half of the remaining RxSugar® mixture
  4. Repeat layers
  5. Pour cream over all
  6. Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes
  7. Reduce heat to 350°F – bake for 55-60 minutes or until apples are tender
  8. Cool on a wire rack and store in refrigerator
  9. Serve with whipped cream if desired
